Families are part of the school, not apart from it.

A school that knows your family by name.

Cedarbrook is small on purpose. With fewer than 200 students across nine grades, every teacher knows every child — and just as importantly, every family knows the school.

Parent partnership at Cedarbrook means showing up in ways that fit your life. Some families volunteer in classrooms. Some help with events, photography, or the school garden. Some bring professional skills — accounting, design, carpentry — to a school project once a year. None of it is required. All of it adds up to a community that feels different from day one.

What you should know: There's no minimum volunteer requirement at Cedarbrook. Show up the way that works for your family.
What surprised us about Cedarbrook is how much the parents know each other. Our kids' friends' parents are our friends now. That doesn't happen at most schools.

Ways families show up

Parents are welcome to read with small groups, support a math block, share a skill, or help with a special project. Teachers post upcoming opportunities each week — sign up when it works.
Open House, Harvest Festival, Spring Showcase, Author Summit, Move-Up Day — every event runs with family help. Most families pick one or two events a year and go deep on those.
Bookkeeping help during enrollment season. Photographing field trips. Setting up the website. Cooking for staff appreciation week. We'll never ask for skills you don't have — but if you have them and want to share, there's room.
Cedarbrook's outdoor spaces are family-built and family-maintained. Weekend work parties happen monthly during the school year. Bring the kids — they love it.

Why it works

Families tell us, year after year, that the relationships they build at Cedarbrook outlast elementary and middle school. You know your child's teachers — really know them. You know the other families. You make friendships, in your child's class and beyond, that you lean on for years. That sense of belonging is what most families remember long after their kids have moved on.

Cedarbrook is full of joy and love and friendliness. You see kids truly enjoying their time at school — and this is how the world should be.
